Close to 200 Jews in Shanghai have volunteered for immediate service with Haganah, it was announced here today. The volunteers were recruited by a Jewish Agency official who visited the Jewish community here to raise funds for Israel. It is believed that more than $125,000 was subscribed for the Jewish state.
