The Jewish cemetery in the Slovakian village of Banvoce and Bebravou has been destroyed by unidentified vandals, it was reported here today.
Between 30 and 40 tombstones were damaged before police authorities began an investigation. Afterwards, all of the remaining tombstones were also smashed. The Central Association of Jewish Communities in Slovakia was promised by the Ministry of Interior that the culprits, when they are apprehended, will be severely punished.
