The trial of 57 war criminals charged with responsibility for the massacre of 14,000 Jews in Jassy concluded here last night. The verdict is expected to be announced tomorrow.
With the exception of the two principal defendants–Gen. Gheorghe Stavrescu and Col. Constantu Lupu–the accused yesterday continued to protest their total innocence of the massacre. Stavrescu and Lupu admitted that they might have done more to avert the slaughter.
