The Jewish Welfare Board is prepared to meet any additional responsibilities that will result from the new Selective Service Act, it was announced today by Frank L. Weil, president. The J.W.B. is ready to assign additional field staff to major installations, should the need arise, the announcement added. Since 1917, the J.W.B. has been recognized by the U.S. armed forces as the agency designated by the Jewish community in this country to meet the religious, welfare, recreational and morale needs of Jews in the Army, Navy and in veterans hospitals.
