No confirmation could be obtained from U.N. Secretariat sources this evening of several reports originating from Amman, capital of Transjordan, that the Arabs had accepted the Security Council’s order for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

Dispatches from Amman attributed the cease-fire order to King Abdullah, who was said to have acted with the consent of the Arab League Political Committee. One report stated that Abdullah set 2 A.M. local time tomorrow as the deadline for the truce in Jerusalem. A late dispatch from Tel Aviv reported that the Israeli Government had agreed to the time set by Abdullah.
