Memorial meetings honoring the thousands of Hungarian Jews who were executed by the Germans during the war were held in various communities throughout the country this week.
A large-sized replica of the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem was unveiled in the town of Zala, while in Pocs a statue depicting Jewish martyrs of the late war was dedicated in the presence of high government officials. The fourth anniversary of the deportation of 6,000 Jews from Gyoer to the Cswiecim death camp was also commemorated.
