British-u.s. Community Cooperation Urged at First National Jewish Youth Parley

A call for closer cooperation between Jewish community centers in the United States and those of Great Britain was issued are during the week-end at the first National Jewish Youth Conference, held under the auspices of the Jewish welfare Board’s National Jewish Youth Planning Commission. the call was voiced by Miss Elizabeth Benjamin, a director of the Brady’s Girl’s ?lub of London, who is in this country in the first exchange of professional personal between members of the World Federation of Jewish Centers and YMHA’s.

Jewish youth in the U.S. have a responsibility toward world Jewry and should said Israel because the establishment of Israel is a “fight for the survival of Jewry as a whole,” Arthur Liver ant, secretary of the Israeli mission to the U.S., declared in an earlier address to the convention. The 200 delegates to the parley, representing 65 Jewish communities throughout the country, are formed into six workshop discussion groups. the convention will continue until Sept. 10.
