There has already been a “subtle change” in the attitude of the British Government toward Israel since the existence of the Jewish state became an accomplished fact, Sir Simon Marks, leader of British Jewry, last night declared at a reception given by the Joint Palestine Appeal of Britain in honor of Gershon Agronsky, editor of the Palestine Post, who just arrived from Tel Aviv.

Agronsky said he came to Britain to remind English Jewry that the war is not over yet and that what was needed in Israel nine months ago is more desperately in demand today. He stated that the present armed truce which British policy is forcing on Israel is no less expensive than war. Israel’s secret weapon in winning the war, Agronsky asserted, was the will power and determination of her people.
