Soldiers, Officers in Israeli Army to Get Pay Increases; Families Receives Allowances

Soldiers and officer in the Israeli Army will have their basic pay increased, it was indicated here today. The basic pay for a soldier at present is eight dollars a month. Officers get up to $24.00 a month. The families of all servicemen receive special allowances.

The average allowance for a family of an Israeli soldier is about $100 a month. About $800,000 will be spent during the month of September for the payment of family allowances.
