Joint Defense Appeal to Hold National Meeting in Cleveland; Will Discuss Anti-semitism

Problems concerning the fight against anti-Semitism in the United States will be discussed at a three-day meeting of the National Council of the Joint Defense Appeal which will open on Nov. 19 in Cleveland, it was announced here today by Charles W. Morris, chairman of the Council.

The Joint Defense Appeal, currently seeking a national goal of $6,104,540, is the fund-raising arm of the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith. The national meeting will seek to hammer out the 1949 national goal for combatting intolerance through the agencies of the J.D.A., Morris said.
