A “Million-Dollar Lifeline to Israel,” calling for the shipment of one or more shiploads of vital food to the Jewish state, was launched here today at an all-day conference of the Metropolitan Council of B’nai B’rith attended by more than 2,000 delegates representing 165 groups, Efforts in behalf of the drive will be climaxed at a city-wide “Israel Day,” scheduled to take place in December.

Frank Goldman, president of the B’nai B’rith, denounced the proposals made by the late Count Folke Bernadotte for settling the Palestine dispute. Other speakers included Senator Brien McMahon and Bartley C. Crum, publisher of the New York Star, who reported on his recent visit to Israel.
