The division of function between the Zionist organization in London, which will retain an office of information only, and the newly formed Israeli office was cutlined here today to newsmen by Prof. Selig Brodetsky, one-man branch of the Jewish Agency executive in London, prior to his leaving this week-end for New York to attend a Hadassah convention.

Prof. Brodetsky also revealed that the London branch of the executive would be liquidated under this new set-up. Any political tasks which it previously had will be turned over to the Israeli representation here, which sometime in the future will become an Israeli legation.

Richard Crossman, Labor M.P. and former member of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry on Palestine, last night told at a dinner to raise funds for the youth aliyah that the “Jewish people have proved that they will not be beaten, even by the United Nations.” Other speakers included Lorna Wingate, widow of the pro-Zionist British General Orde Wingate, and Laborite M.P. Sidney Silverman, who expressed regrets that a “few months of self-defense did more to gain respect for the Jews than thirty years of constructive work.”
