The United States Government has, from time to time, forwarded to the United Nations mediator for Palestine information concerning suspected violations of the U.N. truce agreement not to send arms to the fighting forced in Palestine, a State Department official said here.

The practice “arose out of our commitments” following the U.N. Security Council resolution of July 15 which established a truce in Palestine and by which U.N. countries agreed to embargo shipments of arms to both sides in the Middle East fight the official declared.

The reports came in both from American intelligence agents and U.S. diplomats offices abroad. Whenever some information comes to light that relates to what appears to be a violation of the U.N. arms embargo of July 15, the State Department official disclosed, it is forwarded to the Palestine mediator “for his information.”
