The United States should take the initiative in urging the United Nations to call upon the Jews and Arabs to meet together for the settlement of territorial disputes regarding the state of Israel, Mrs. Joseph M. Welt, President of the National Council of Jewish Women, suggested today in a letter to President Truman.

Mrs. Welt also urged the U.S. to grant Israel immediate de jure recognition, support Israel’s application for membership in the United Nations and authorize the granting of a loan to the Jewish state.
