American Engineering Firm Asked by Israeli Government to Survey Needs of Haifa Port

An American engineering firm has been commissioned by the Israeli Communications Ministry to undertake a survey of Haifa port with a view towards its long-range development, it was learned hare today. The same American firm is blueprinting plans for the building of a deep-water harbor at Tel Aviv.

The “EL-Al” airline is in the process of purchasing several four-engine planes for regular service between Israel and Europe, it was learned hare. The air company is attempting to free the Jewish state of its dependence on foreign airlines. Mean-while, regular bi-weekly plane service between Israel and Belgium will begin next week.
