Israeli Consul-General Arthur Lourie today issued a statement warning against the Initiation of an “Israel International Sweepstakes” In the United States.
“It has come to our attention that an ‘Israel International Sweepstakes’ campaign has been initiated In the United States, purportedly for the benefit of ‘schools, hospitals, public welfare and charities’ In Israel,” the statement declared. “I wish to state categorically that this campaign has been undertaken without the knowledge or approval of the Government of Israel. The public is warned against participation in any way in this scheme which, to say the least, is of questionable legitimacy,” the statement added.
