Special services were held in the central synagogue here last night to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the liberation of the Budapest ghetto by the Soviet Army. Every-seat in the synagogue was filled during the ceremony and many had to be turned away from the meeting.

In major addresses before the prayers, Rabbis Fabian Herehkovits and M. Katona lauded the Hungarian Government for Its treatment of the Jews. Rabbi Hershkovits paid special tribute to the soldiers of Israel and to all fighters in behalf of the Jewish state throughout the world. Rabbi Katona called on his audience to look forward to the future and to help the government defeat those who look back to the “old liberty” which, he said, included the “liberty to establish a ghetto.
