Discussions on the establishment of a currency exchange rate between the United States and Israel started today with the arrival here of Kliezer Kaplan, Israeli Finance Minister, a spokesman of the State Department said. He described the talks as “informational” only.
The spokesman revealed that Kaplan called on Joseph C. Satterthwaite, chief of the State Department Office on Near Eastern and African Affairs, to inaugurate a series of discussions on various technical financial matters. He was accompanied by ###ahu Epstein, Israel’s special representative in this country.
