Governor Paul A. Dever yesterday appointed Walter H. Bieringer chairman of the Massachusetts Displaced Persons Commission. Bieringer, who formerly served as vice-chairman of the commission, is a member of the executive committee of the United Service for New Americans, vice-president of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies of Boston and a trustee of the Combined Jewish Appeal of Greater Boston.
