Canada will not send a trade mission to Israel, Lester B. Pearson, Minister for External Affairs, announced in Parliament.

Canada’s recognition of the Jewish state is only a few weeks old, Pearson said in explanation. He added that conversations were recently held in Ottawa between Eliahu Epstein, Israeli special representative to the United States, and Canadian officials. “These conversations have been most encouraging,” he said.
