The members of the new Israeli Cabinet which was formed last week by Premier David Ben Gurion today met for the purpose of completing ?he draft of a program to be submitted to the Knesseth, the newly-elected Constituent assembly, when it reopens its session in Tel Aviv tomorrow afternoon.
Leaders of the Mapam, the United Workers Party, which did not Join the Cabinet, today charged the Mapai with “falsifying the wishes of the electorate.” Addressing a press conference, they said that the electorate had clearly expressed itself in favor of a government composed of the representatives of the labor parties. The present composition of the Cabinet, they declared, constituted a threat to an Independent Israeli foreign policy and a progressive home policy. They emphasized that the Mapam advocated cooperation with all United Nations members who favor cooperation with Israel. However, they said, it must be realized that not all U.N. members are such cooperation.
