Britain Names Commercial Attache to Tel Aviv; British Zionists to Open Israeli Bureau

The appointment of a commercial attache who will proceed shortly to Tel Aviv to join the staff of Minister Alexander Knox Helm’s legation was announced here this weekend in a public statement by Christopher Mayhew, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs.

The Zionist Federation of Britain has decided to set up immediately a special bureau in Israel to encourage the immigration of middle class British Jews to Israel and will foster closer contacts between professional, business, and tourist in the two countries. The bureau will be directed by Shlomo Temkin.
