For the first time in many years the major Turkish newspapers have assigned regular correspondents to Israel. The reports received from these correspondents have been extremely favorable to the Jewish state and are being followed with interest by the Turkish reading public.

In a recent interview with a newspaperman here, Turkish Foreign Minister Nedjmettin Sadak declared that a “speedy solution of the Palestine question is one of the most important factors for stabilization and peace in the Mediterranean area.” In this sentiment he is joined by a number of influential Turkish newspapers, most of whom call for an “understanding” between Turkey and Israel.
