Israel has joined the International Labor Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations, it was announced here this week-end.

Israel Joined the majority in the General Assembly this week-end, voting in favor of U.N. intervention in the problem of racial discrimination against the Indian population in the Union of South Africa. On the question of a draft-convention on freedom of information, the Israeli delegate abstained; explaining that although Israel was vitally interested in the principles embodied in the draft convention, the Israeli delegation had not participated in drafting of the convention and was there-fore abstaining.
