Argentine Jewish Leader Says Peron Suppressed Anti-Semitism in Country

Sucher Matrajt, president of the pro-Peron Argentine Jewish organization known as the "O.I.U.," said here today that anti-Semitism in Argentina, "which had previously teen widespread," was completely suppressed after Gen, Juan Peron came to power Mr. Matrajt arrived here for consultations with British Jewish leaders, following a visit to Israel where he presented President Weizmann will a personal message from Peron.

The O.I.A. leader maintained that the principle of "non-discrimination in public life and in commerce" in Argentina has been fully established. He lauded the achievements which the Israeli Government has performed and expressed confidence that close and friendly relations will be established" between Israel and Argentina.
