Israel and Switzerland Reach Agreement on Establishment of Consulates

Announcement was made today by the Israeli Foreign Ministry that the new state and Switzerland have decided to raise the rank of their respective diplomatic missions to that of consulate.

It was also disclosed that Samuel Tolkowsky would be appointed consul-general to Berne, which he is expected to reach by the end of this month. (Col. Yigal Yadin, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, who 13 now on a visit to Switzerland, was formally received today at the headquarters of the Swiss general staff.)
