Rabbinical Council Seeks Funds to Send Delegations to Small Communities Throughout U.S.

The Rabbinical Council of America yesterday adopted a resolution at the closing session of its 13th annual convention endorsing establishment of a special fund to launch a “National Torah Tour” to send rabbinical delegations to small. Jewish rural communities throughout the United States to explain the fundamental principles of Orthodox Judaism.

At the same time the Council empowered its executive committee to send a rabbinical delegationto confer with Israeli Chief Rabbi Dr. Isaac Halevi Herzog on convening of the announced world rabbinical Conference in Jerusalem next year. In a resolution adopted by the delegates. American Jewry was urged to extend all-out support to the United Jewish Appeal, which in turn was asked to allocate $2,000,000 of its funds for religious and cultural institutions in the Jewish state.
