The problem of the Palestine Arab refugees will be brought before the September session of the U.N. General Assembly, U.N. Secretary-General Trygve Lie indicated here today at a press conference at which he revealed that the number of displaced Palestine Arabs has doubled since last fall. Mr. Lie said a “three-way approach” to solve the Arab refugee problem is now being considered: relief projects, resettlement plans which may come out of the Arab Israeli peace talks now taking place at Lausanne, and the launching of a development program for the economic absorption of the Arab DP’s. Replying to a question, the U.N. Secret-General said he had no on the progress of the resettlement issue at the Lausanne parleys, but disclosed that several U.N. technical agencies are now considering the possibility of implementing the United Nations aid program, for the benefit of the Arab refugees.
