Newly-elected Mayor John Kenny of this city told a delegation of Jewish leaders of this community that he would cooperate in a program to permit students of the Jewish faith to absent themselves from school on religious holidays without being penalized. The delegation urged that examinations should not be held on Jewish religious holidays and that students staying away from classes on religions holidays not be marked absent.
