Problems concerning Israel’s relations with the countries of Eastern Europe were discussed here today at a closed conference attended by all members of the Knesset foreign relations Committee, Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett and by Dr. Shmuel Elyashev, director of the Eastern European Division of the Foreign Ministry.

The conference took place in connection with Elyashev’s forthcoming trip to Moscow and to the capitals of Eastern Europe. During his visits to Rumania, Hungary and Poland, Dr. Elyashev will take up the question of permitting more Jews to leave those countries for Israel.
