Premier David Ben Gurion yesterday paid a visit to New York University students taking a special summer workshop course here. He was subjected to a barrage of questions by the students, chiefly on the Jewish state’s economic policies.

The Israeli Premier explained that Israel was founded both on private enterprise and cooperative principles, with the former concentrated in industrial undertakings. The cooperative system is employed in those fields from which private capital shies away, he said, giving as an example the development of the Negev where collective settlements are more suitable than other types.
