Nazi Field Marshal Fritz Erich von Manstein was today removed from his cell in a British military hospital here prior to the opening of his trial before a British military court, Reuters reported today.
Von Manstein is charged with responsibility for war crimes, including mass pogroms in the Ukraine in which hundreds of thousands of Jews were annihilated during the period when he was the province’s military governor.
