The Central Committee of Polish Jews today issued a statement revealing that it was invited to send two representatives to the executive session of the World Jewish Congress now taking place in Paris. The statement said the Committee refused to have anything to do with the present administration of the Congress unless the latter agrees to the following conditions:
1. The World Jewish Congress should withdraw its decision against participation in the Paris Peace Conference and should declare itself willing to join “the powerful bloc for peace” established by “democratic-progressive” organization.
2. The World Jewish Congress should issue a statement discrediting its present leadership and the leaders of the American Jewish Congress, while the latter should revoke its decision to exclude “Jewish progressive-democratic organizations” in the United States from its ranks.
The statement reveals that in reply to its set of conditions, the Central Committee received a communication from Dr. Nahum Goldmann, acting president of the World Jewish Congress, declaring that the stipulations are considered by the Congress’ administration as tantamount to a refusal by the Central Committee to send representatives to the Paris executive session.
