Delegates attending a conference of Jewish communities and displaced persons in Germany here today took up the question of creating a common representative body for all Jews in Germany. Harry Greenstein, adviser on Jewish affairs to the American Military Government, said that such a group should be the “highest body, representing all Jews in Germany.”

Dr. L. Livneh, Israel consul here, suggested to the delegates that Jews living in Eastern Germany be included in the proposed body to “demonstrate Jewish unity.” A subcommission to draft a program for the new body was appointed and will report back to the delegates at their next meeting here in October.
