“As Communist parties throughout the world, we shall receive the Soviet Army with open arms if, in pursuit of imperialist forces, it reaches Israel,” Meyer Willner, Communist deputy in the Knesset, this week-end declared at the 11th national conference of the Israel Communist Party here. Mr. Willner also declared that “we will not make peace with Israel’s ‘Blumists.”

The convention, which is heavily attended by Arab Communists, also elected Joseph Stalin chairman of an honorary presidium of the convention, which included the 11 leaders of the American Communist Party who were last week sentenced to jail. The convention received greetings from numerous Communist parties, including that of the U.S.S.R. and China, and a message from Wilhelm Pieck, president of the new Soviet-sponsored East German Republic, which declared: “The German people acknowledges its guilt and crime against the Jews.”

(In Moscow the newspapers, including Pravda and Izvestia, prominently featured reports of the Israel Communist Party convention. The reports noted “the exceptional enthusiasm” of the Israel party’s greeting to the Soviet Communist Party. It was also stated that Shmuel Mikunis, Communist member of the Israel Parliament, condemned “Anglo-American aggression in the Middle East” and noted the Soviet Union’s “moral support to Israel.”
