Immediate restitution of the property of victims of Nazi persecution will be urged by the Austrian Socialist Party at the next meeting of Parliament, Bruno Pittermann, a Socialist deputy, declared today.

He blamed the majority People’s Party–the local Catholic party–for delay in implementing the restitution laws, drafts of which, he said, have been pigeon-holed for over a year. He predicted strong opposition in Parliament on the part of the People’s Party in addition to opposition by the newly-elected neo-Nazi deputies of the League of Independent Voters.
