A “Save Jerusalem” rally called by the American Zionist Council and attended by thousands of persons at Manhattan Center here tonight heard Louis Lipsky, Council chairman, declare that “we want to express our deep regret and grievous disappointment that the sponsorship for the scheme to exclude Jerusalem from the jurisdiction of Israel, to make it a segregated city of men and women without a country, should have been assumed without sufficient reason by the representative of our government in the U.N.”

Other speakers included Berl Locker, chairman of the Jerusalem section of the Jewish Agency; Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the American section of the Agency; Mrs. Rose Halprin, member of the Agency executive; Rep. Emanuel Celler and Rep. Jacob K. Javits. (At the time the Bulletin went to press the addresses of the aforementioned had not yet been delivered.)
