The American Jewish community must absorb 60,000 DP’s before June 30, 1950, the out-off date of the present DP immigration act, because “either we get people out now or never,” Joseph E. Beck, United Service for New Americans director, this week-end told an eight-state joint conference of the USNA and Joint Distribution Committee.
