78 Jewish Tourists from Europe Not Allowed to Land in Uruguay; Are Returned to France

A group of 78 Jewish tourists from Europe who arrived here aboard the French vessel, “Florida,” were not permitted to land by Uruguayan immigration authorities.

All of the Jews, who carried visas issued by the Uruguayan consulate in Paris, were returned to France aboard the came vessel that brought them here. It is not known here whether the French Government will allow them to land since all of them are Polish citizens.
