The second anniversary of the United Nations Palestine partition decision of Nov. 29, 1947, was celebrated here under the slogan, “Jerusalem–Capital of the State of Israel.” The celebration took place under the auspices of the Zionist Central Council and the United Israel Campaign. Dr. Chaim Weizmann’s 75th birthday was marked here at a meeting arranged by the Uruguay Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science.
