Americans who own land in Israel have been requested to register with the Israel Consulates in this country in order to facilitate settlement of taxes.

The Israel Treasury, in making the request, explained that owners of Israel land are liable to a find of 20 percent of the tax value if the taxes are not paid on time. At present, the addresses of many landowners here are unknown.

Registration may be made with the Consulates in New York, Los Angeles or Montreal. The required information includes full name and address, number of the block and of the parcel, and if possible also the registration number in the land registry. Alternatively, a copy of the dead may be submitted.
