Bombay Jewish Leader Submits Plan to Afghan Ambassador to Aid Jews in Afghanistan

Proposals for the amelioration of living conditions of the Jews of Afghanistan have been submitted to Sardar Najibullah Khan, Afghan Ambassador at New Delhi, by H. Cynowicz, chairman of the Zionist Federation of Bombay, it was learned here today.

A proposal for the emigration of Afghanistan Jews was also handed the Ambassador during what Mr. Cynowicz described as a “friendly conversation.” The Ambassador promised to transmit the communications to his government.

Cooperative settlements in Israel have been held up by a leading Indian woman leader as an example for India to follow in settling its refugee problem. Speaking at the College of Commerce at Daryagunj, near Delhi, Mrs. K. Shiva Rao, of the All-India Women’s Conference, described the fully cooperative and partial cooperative settlements in Israel and suggested that the latter type is more suited for India.
