The second annual observance of Jewish History Week has been set for April 16-22, it was announced today by Lee M. Friedman, president of the American Jewish Historical Society, sponsor of the event. The Society, which last year initiated and conducted the successful nationwide program seeking to popularize interest in Jewish history, is sponsored by the National Jewish Welfare Board.

Hundreds of local and national Jewish groups throughout the country have been notified of the period in which Jewish History Week is to be observed in 1950. The basic aim of Jewish History Week, Mr. Friedman said, is to “create an understanding of the current movements, trends, and problems in the Jewish community of America in the light of past history.”
