Leaders of the United Religious Bloc of America this week-end decided to continue their support of the Orthodox Cabinet Ministers in Israel who have created a Cabinet crisis over the issue of religious education in the Israel immigration camps.
At an emergency meeting here it was decided to send a second cable to Israel Premier David Ben Gurion expressing “shock and agitation” at the news that the issue of religious education in the camps had not yet been settled satisfactorily. The message pointed out that the current disagreement could cause a “tragic split in world Jewry and serious damage to mutual efforts in behalf of progress” in Israel.
