Israel Plans to Spend $170,000,000 This Year on Various Development Projects

Israel will opend nearly $170,000,000 during the 1950-51 fiscal year on various development projects, it was learned here today.

On agricultural development, the government will spend approximately $36,500,000. This expenditure is expected to supply 8,000,000 working days of employment during the year.

About 400,000 acres of arable land can be redeemed in the next three or four years through irrigation plans now before the Israel Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Walter Lowdermilk, U.S. soil conservation expert, told a press conference here today.
