Municipal Elections to Be Held This Year in Major Israel Towns; 400,000 to Vote

Municipal elections will be held this year in 12 towns and in 31 local councils, according to a decision taken today by the Israel Government. The territory where these elections are scheduled to take place contains about 400,000 voters.

The population of Greater Haifa is now 154,698, according to data released here today. The statistics are based on the records of ration cards issued by the Ministry of Supply and Rationing.
