The Greek Government agreed to release five Jews who were condemned to death and 21 Greek Jews imprisoned on a Greek island, providing that they renounce their citizenship and leave for Israel.
All of them were convicted by military courts of cooperating with the guerrillas. The negotiations for their release were conducted by Israel representative Asher Moissis with officials of the Greek Ministry of Justice and Foreign Ministry.
