“Israel’s proposals for the settlement of the Jerusalem question are sensible and quite sufficient,” Leopold Amery, former British Colonial Minister, told correspondents here after returning from a visit to King Abdullah of Transjordan. “I met a sincere will for peace among responsible leaders on both sides of the Jordan, and detected nothing irreconcilable in their viewpoints,” he said.

The former Minister paid high praise to the constructive work in both countries, especially in Israel. “Your state will be able to truly and speedily develop when there will be peace, which is essential to both Israel and Jordan, and I sincerely hope peace will come soon,” he said.
