Although members of the local Jewish community have suffered considerable losses through the catastrophic flood of the Red River, the United Jewish Appeal, which was temporarily suspended, will be resumed immediately, it was announced here today.

A meeting of officials of the Winnipeg Jewish Appeal, of which the United Jewish Appeal is a part, decided that in view of the urgent situation in Israel, every effort should be made to conclude the drive at the earliest date.

One of the largest contributions to the Manitoba Flood Relief Fund was received from Bronfman Bros. and B. Aaron of Montreal. The donation was $75,000. The Canadian Jewish Congress has issued an appeal to all Jewish communities to make generous contributions to the relief fund and has offered technical aid for the rehabilitation of the sufferers.
