Ultra-orthodox Jewish Sect May Hale Israel Before Interfational Court of Justice

The ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect Neturei Karta is exploring the possibility of haling the Israel Government before the International Court of Justice at The Hague, it was learned here today.

The sect has sought the advice of Prof. Nathan Fienberg, international law expert at the Hebrew University, on the possibilities of battling the legality of the Israel draft in Jerusalem which has called up to service members of the group. The Neturei Karta has refused to recognize Israel sovereignty over Jerusalem and has advocated internationalization of the city at United Nations hearings.

Sephardic Chief Rabbi Ben Zion Uziel of Israel celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday. Chief Rabbi Isaac Halevi Herzog presided at a special celebration honoring Rabbi Uziel. Messages of felicitations were received from President Weizmann and members of the Israel Cabinet.
